Bang
Bang is an interdisciplinary performance about the sisters Fear and Hope. Initially, they work harmoniously within a structure designed by Fear, alternating between scenes where they influence "the" family and scenes in their own world where emotions surface. Over time, Hope, as the younger sister, grows frustrated with her limited role and decides to act independently. When Fear discovers this, a conflict erupts, pulling them apart. Separated, Fear begins struggling with her own task and develops performance anxiety—she is afraid. Ultimately, it is Hope who helps Fear confront her feelings by creating fear herself.
This production is a blend of live music, spoken word, and movement theater, performed by four young women from Flanders. Bang is created by the interdisciplinary performing arts collective DoubleV, under the direction of Wannes Wynants and Wout Stallaert.
